The first step in the process is for us to establish a solid trusting and collaborative relationship in which you feel validated and supported. Once you feel ready to create changes I can teach you strategies to help you change the negative thoughts that lead to depressive or anxious feelings, beliefs that no longer serve you, and habits that keep you stuck. The purpose of this is to help you begin to thrive and enjoy life again. I can also help you with communication strategies to improve the quality of your interpersonal relationships.
The techniques that I use are part of an approach called T.E.A.M. that is primarily based on cognitive behavioral therapy, These cutting edge techniques can bring about powerful yet lasting change in a relatively short period of time. However, you should know that finding relief will require more than just talking about your thoughts and feelings. It will require work on your part, including actively practicing the skills I will share with you, as well as in between-session assignments.
